The spooky sounds of haunted houses and Halloween come to life in this fun piece for young band. Low brass and woodwinds enjoy prominent melodic material, percussionists get to play novel "SFX" instruments, and there's even a flute section "scream" at the end! Alternatively, one can use a sound effects (SFX) app on a smart device (i.e. iPad or iPhone, etc.) that triggers an Ooga Horn audio file sound effect. The audio OUT from the smart device needs to be connected to an amplifier, a portable sound system, or even the auditorium sound system. Download the ooga horn sfx just below to load on your smart device, and have a student trigger it (press the button) to playback the sound when needed in performance.

Additionally, you may want to use the GHOSTS IN THE GRAVEYARD INTRO SFX file linked below to set the mood in concert. Have a student trigger the audio file just before starting the piece. The opening of the piece should overlap with the sound file, bringing your audience INTO the graveyard!

Finally, if neither of the OOGA HORN solutions are pragmatic for you and your program, just use a hand powered vintage brass antique car horn. You can order these at various places online. It won't be as loud (unless you have a mic near the horn to send it's sound into the sound system), but it will do just fine :-)
